Devious Update!

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 9, 2009, 4:16 PM
I had told you people that I was going to update this a looooong time ago. I totally had to try the new free Journal skin too. So I graduated college in May 2009, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I found a job at a zoo in Pennsylvania. Its called Clyde Peeling's Reptiland. If you are ever in the Williamsport/Allenwood area of PA, you should stop by! Its a great little zoo. It is a specialized zoo--it only houses reptiles and some amphibians. There are snakes, lizards, frogs, geckos, and turtles and tortoises. I love it there. All the people I work with are great and the animals are great as well. Most of the lizards have a little bit of a personality that show up-which most are cute! I have made some great friends there.

I have saved up 16 days off that I can use whenever I want. In the near future, maybe after Christmas I am going to go visit :iconcrazysparkles06: We have always said we were going to visit each other, but now I am going to do something about it. We just have to make sure we are both going to be in PA. lol.

When I get back home to PA ( I am visiting Alabama right now), I am going to start riding again. I miss riding so much! I can't imagine not having horses in my life. They are great if you need some Horse Therapy to make you feel better. They make me smile at least.

I can't wait for the Holidays. I am going to decorate my apartment for Christmas, I might even be able to get a tree to put up. I love the Holidays--time for family to get together.

Talk to you soon!

So I guess I should update this journal with the happenings of my summer. :D

I had an internship at the Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro Massachusetts this summer, and I had the time of my life!! It started in May and went until August. I was in three different rotations during the summer. I started out in the Maintenance/Operations area. I was cleaning the public areas and building things for the exhibits. That took about 3 weeks.
In June I moved onto Animal Care...which was my favorite part of the entire summer! I did a lot of cleaning exhibits and indoor areas for the animals. I made up diets for the animals..which is harder than it seems..haha. I also got to play with some of the animals! My favorite animal there to play with were the Black and White Ruffed Lemurs! They will jump on your shoulders, your back, grab at your pants. Oh they are adorable!! :D After Animal Care was Education. I helped the camp kids with animal care duties. They would clean up after the llamas/goats and the kangaroos and emus. They also were able to create some of the diets for the animals. They seemed to love it!
I was loved by all the keepers there. I would work there all day..and I would be 'stolen' from different keepers throughout the day. I would start off with Adam, get stolen by Steph, go back to Adam, then end up with Keri at the end of the day. They loved me and I loved them.
I had such a great time there. I made so many good friends and I am still in touch with them now that I am back at school.

I lived in the Rhode Island area and commuted into Attleboro. I really miss being in Rhode Island. I made some good friends there too and Providence is such a happening town. Lots to do and see! I can't wait to go back and visit!

I will tell you all about school later! :D

I have always wanted to do this...soooo:

So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool... (It will compromise the divination :-) )
7. When you're finished tag some other people to do it!

I heard about this monster a couple of weeks ago and even saw photos of what he did. Shocking. Now they want him to do it again.

Read this:

In 2007, Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, a so called ‘artist’, took a dog from the streets, tied it up to a short rope attached to a wall in an art gallery, and let it slowly die of hunger and thirst. For various days, the author of this horrible cruelty and the visitors of the gallery were impassible spectators of the poor animal’s torture, until it slowly died after an absurd and incomprehensible agony.

Do you think this is cruel?
But the story doesn’t end here: the prestigious Biennale Centroamericana of Art has decided, incomprehensibly, that the bestiality committed by the aforementioned individual is art, and in such a way Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat the cruelty at the 2008 Biennale Centroamericanan which will be held in Honduras. LET’S STOP HIM!

Sign here: [link] <[link] you don’t have to pay nor register, and its worth doing it so that this manwill never be appreciated nor be called an artist for performing such a heinous act, for such an insensitivity and for provoking another beings pain

It’s very easy, it just takes ten seconds of your time (more time than it took me to translate the original message in Italian) and its from a secure source; we forward all sorts of stuff, lets do it to avoid the unnecessary, cruel and sadistic suffering of an innocent animal.

RESEND THIS MESSAGE TO ALL YOUR CONTACTS PLEASE

The last two fields in the part that you fill in are county/state and then country.

Great End to a Summer!

I am getting a new puppy!!!! I work at the local Humane society and there are dozens of dogs that come in that I just love instantly...or some that grow on me..:D, but there was one puppy that I couldn't help but love. He is a sheltie mix or a collie mix. His name is Sailor...it seriously fits him. :) What makes him so special, is he has detached retinas, so he is pretty much blind. We think he can see shadows because he will follow me around there or look at you when you walk up to him. My mom came down to pick me up the one day..and she also loved him instantly. We had to do a little bit of sweet talking to my dad though..lol..but he has said okay. We just have to see if my other two dogs will be okay around him...(which won't be a problem)...and then he is ours. My mom said that she doesn't care about the vet bills if he has any. Choosing between a good home or getting put to sleep...i go for the good home. He is only a few months old and the most darling thing. Here is a picture of him on the humane society website : [link] I already have a plan. I am getting an ice cream cake for all the ladies down at the shelter for letting me work there, and I am going to ask my mom if she can bring Sailor (if we get him) to visit everyone during our lunch break..just to say hello. I just can't wait to bring him home!!! :D
